New to WordCamp? Here’s What to Expect

WordCamp Philly at the University of the Sciences is an opportunity to learn more about WordPress and meet WP developers, designers and users.

First and most important thing to know: You Are Welcome Here! It doesn’t matter whether you are new to WordPress, or aren’t familiar with the terminology. You are welcome whether or not you’ve gone to WordPress Meetups, or feel that you are somehow different from “people who go to WordCamps.” If you are interested in WordPress, WordCamp is for you, no matter who you are.

Which Ticket Should I Get?

For past WordCamp Phillies (great team name, don’t you think?), there were two ticket choices — if you don’t count the Individual Sponsor or Business Microsponsor tickets. You could get a ticket for the Saturday events for $20 or a ticket for both the Saturday and Sunday — that is, Contributor Day — events for $30.

In all likelihood, some attendees were scratching their heads trying to decide which to buy. Go for the Saturday-Sunday ticket, even though they weren’t sure they’d actually attend Contributor Day? Or just get the Saturday ticket and risk missing out if they really wanted to go to Contributor Day after all?
