Oct. 27 WordCamp Panel to Explore Workplace Support for Autism in Tech

Within the WordPress community, we are beginning to see a need to better support our children with the challenges of autism and related issues, particularly as they grow into adults.

At 1:30 pm October 27, the WordCamp Philly panel “Creating Inclusive Workplaces: What Tech Communities Are Doing to Support Employees with Autism and Related Challenges”  will focus on how the tech community can create systems that enable people with autism and related challenges to flourish professionally.

WordCamp Philly Presenting Panel on Ethics at Oct. 27 Event

How do ethics apply to official WordPress-related events and to the businesses and individuals affiliated with those events? What happens if the businesses or individuals promote or earn income from groups whose mission is incompatible with the Code of Conduct? Where is the line for WordCamps when it comes to “providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all”?

WordCamp Philly 2018 will explore the issue in its panel, “Where the Rubber Meets the Road: Ethics, Values and the WordPress Community”. The panel will be at 10:50 am Saturday, October 27.

The Business/Freelance Track Focuses on Facets of Web Traffic

Advance Your Skills — or Get Started — with the Developer Track

The WordCamp Philly 2018 Developer track will offer lots of useful talks for more experienced developers, but it will have topics for relative newcomers to WordPress development as well. Learn how to leverage the inspector, find out more about testing, get workflow tips, tackle Gutenberg development, see what you can do with post meta and learn about e-commerce plugin development — all part of the Developer track.
