Which WordCamp Ticket Should I Get?

If you’re new to WordCamp and you’ve made it to the ticket page, you may be thinking, “But which ticket? Why is there more than one option? I’m so confused!

No sweat. We’ll help you sort it out.

If you mainly want to hear the talks, visit the Happiness Bar for technical assistance and maybe drop into the After-Party, you’re looking for the WordCamp Philly 2017 Main Event ticket for $20. This covers all events on Saturday, October 28.

The WordCamp Philly 2017 Main Event and Contributor Day ticket ($30) includes everything covered by the $20 ticket. In addition, you may drop in on Contributor Day on October 29, which is entirely different from the Saturday experience. On Contributor Day the participants get down to the business of making, documenting and supporting WordPress. You decide where your skills and interests lie and volunteer accordingly. A few of the areas are:

  • Core contributors (developers)
  • Support forum
  • Documentation
  • UX and design
  • Marketing
  • Translations

The Contributor Day environment is very casual; there’s no roll call or formal sessions. People working on similar tasks break into groups and frequently compare notes. You don’t need to be a WordPress expert. This is as much an opportunity for you to learn by performing a task or working alongside a more experienced contributor as it is to build WordPress.

The WordCamp Philly 2017 Individual Sponsor ticket ($100) is like the $30 ticket, but with a bonus: you can see your name as a sponsor on our site! The generous sponsors at all levels are the people and organizations who, with support from the WordPress Foundation, keep WordCamp Philly one of the most affordable technical conferences in the region.

Regardless of which ticket you decide on, we’re looking forward to seeing you at WordCamp Philly 2017.
