With No Takers, Free Child Care Service Canceled for ’17

Thank you all for responding to our inquiries regarding child-care needs. Due to a lack of demand, we have decided to cancel the service for WordCamp Philly 2017. Children are totally welcome at WordCamp Philly. We will just not be providing any sort of child care.

In view of the lack of demand, we wanted to act as good stewards of the community funds with which we are entrusted. We also needed to respect the provider’s scheduling needs by giving appropriate notice. We would consider providing child care at future WordCamps in the event that it seems appropriate.

Right now we’ve had no requests for the child-care services we are offering. This needs to be arranged well in advance in order to have sufficient professional staff on hand. Children can’t be dropped off the day of WordCamp without advance arrangement.
